Lake District in Autumn – A Classic Lakeland Tour with Mark Littlejohn and Jon Gibbs

For September 2017 I have teamed up with the first UK Landscape Photographer of the Year – Jon GIBBS – to run a classic Lakeland tour visiting all the ‘usual suspects’ and a few other less well know locations as well. The tour starts on the 25th of September, just when the colours have started to turn and we get those wonderful blends of greens, and yellows with flashes of gold. From experience, it is also a time of year when we can get some beautiful Autumn mists as the temperatures start to change.

Walking will be of the sensible nature – just enough to get that eye-catching view without having to walk for miles and miles. We won’t have a set itinerary. I see no point in such things when taking photographs in the Lakes. We will be chasing conditions to suit whichever location we have in mind on any particular day. A small group of 6 people in two vehicles means that we can remain fluid and also cater for the particular wishes of individuals along the way.

Accommodation is in the George Hotel in Penrith, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is an excellent base, with lovely food and they also supply us with a room for processing and critique sessions. Lunch is not provided, although I may occasionally provide the odd cake or other “light” refreshment along the way…

The tour starts at lunchtime on the 25th of September with a Steamer ride around Ullswater that afternoon so that everyone can become acquainted with each other and the marvellous scenery we will be enjoying.

The cost of the tour is £795 with a deposit of £200 required to book your place.
